Omeje, Joachim Chinweike; Anyanwyu, Joy I; Oyibo, Ikwunemelu Zita
This study investigated the effect of cognitive restructuring on school adjustment of maladjusted in school adolescents in Onitsha Urban Education Zone, Anambra State, Nigeria. The study adopted a quasi-experimental design to achieve its objectives. Through a purposive sampling technique, a sample of 14 maladusted students was used as experimental group while 16 maladjusted students was used as control group. Two null hypotheses guided the study. In the analysis of the data for the study, mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions whereas Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) was used to test null hypotheses. Results show that there is a significant difference in the mean academic adjustment of maladusted adolescent students exposed to cognitive restructuring and those of conventional counselling and significant differences in the mean social adjustrment scores of maladjusted adolescent students exposed to cognitive restructuring and those in convential group. The researchers recommend among others that counsellors and school teachers should adopt cognitive restructring approaches in addressing the problem of maladjusted in-school adolescents.

<description>Learners With Disabilities in an Inclusive Education Setting in Nigeria: Implications for Administrators
Angie, Oboegbulem; Eskay, Michael
Education in an inclusive setting appears to be a concept in this 21st century. This concept is beginning to gain recognition in the field of education. Children with and without disabilities are gradually being educated together in large scale societies. This is because most large scale countries have begun to recognize, appreciate, and accept children with disabilities in inclusive classrooms. In Nigeria, inclusive education has not fully gained recognition due to governmental policies. These policies help in the formulation and implementation of special education programs for learners with disabilities in Nigeria. The authors looked at inclusive education policies in relation to placement, legal mandate, assessment, least restrictive environment, identification and referral, and instructional programming. Finally, in this paper, recommendations and conclusion are provided.

Oyeoku, E. K.; Meziobi, D.; Ezegbe, N. B; Obikwelu, C. L.
The main purpose of the study was to evolve modalities for preventing domestic violence against women in Nsukka education zone. Three research questions and two null hypotheses guided the study. The sample comprised 150 urban women and 450 rural women in Nsukka education zone. A 20-item questionnaire was developed, validated, and administered to these respondents. The result indicated that the measures for preventing violence against women in Nsukka education zone included among other things, the use of police, dialogue, the use of mass media, advocacy through traditional leaders, seminars, and workshops. The researchers recommended that seminars and workshops should be organized to educate members of the public on the dangers of violence against women, government should employ stringent measures against people who perpetrate violence against women, and girl-child education should be made compulsory to equip her socially and economically to enable her to become aware and exercise her rights as a good citizen of the society.

<title>The Place of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) in the Administration of Secondary Schools in South Eastern States of Nigeria</title>
<link>http://repository.unn.edu.ng/handle/123456789/7566</link>
<description>The Place of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) in the Administration of Secondary Schools in South Eastern States of Nigeria
Angie, Oboegbulem; Ugwu, Rita N.
This study aimed at identifying the role of ICT (information and communication technology) in school administration and the extent of its application by secondary school principals in administration. To guide this study, two research questions were answered and two null hypotheses were tested. The design of the study was a descriptive survey design. The population comprised all the 30 schools in the south eastern states, comprising Abia, Anambra, Ebonvi, Enugu, and Imo states with ICT and Internet facilities. There was no sampling since all the 30 principals from the five states were used for the study. A 26-item questionnaire was constructed and used for data collection. Means and t-test statistic were used for data analysis. The findings showed among others that the use of ICT in school administration is a necessity and worthwhile venture especially in this era of globalization, but the extent of their application in secondary schools is very slow as school administrators are incompetent in handling ICT facilities for effective administration of schools.
