<title>Development of an Enhanced Health Surveillance System</title>
<link>http://repository.unn.edu.ng/handle/123456789/9272</link>
<description>Development of an Enhanced Health Surveillance System
Ogbene, Nnaemeka Emeka
This research work designs and develops an enhanced health surveillance system for healthcare systems and services. Health surveillance system enables healthcare workers to easily detect, analyse, prevent and promptly respond to the outbreak of communicable diseases in an area or region and also facilitate efficient healthcare service delivery. The early detection of infectious diseases is very critical for an early response and hence control of disease outbreaks. Manual healthcare surveillance system is time consuming, labour-intensive and quite expensive to manage especially during disease outbreaks and natural disasters. The healthcare surveillance system developed is an online platform that allows medical professionals to enter records of prevalent diseases, communicable ailments and disease outbreaks in their locations which is made available to a monitoring and regulating agency of government or non-governmental health organizations. An enhanced health surveillance system allows for the prompt response to the colossal effect the disease could cause, preventing an epidemic and allowing a global share of information to enable easier management of such diseases in other climes. Enhanced health surveillance system will be beneficial to the health practitioners, the government among others. This system was designed using Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) and implemented using jQuery Client Side Scripting language, PHP server side scripting language and MYSQL relational database management system.

<title>Development of an Enhanced Social Network Security System, Integrating Biometric Authentication</title>
<link>http://repository.unn.edu.ng/handle/123456789/9269</link>
<description>Development of an Enhanced Social Network Security System, Integrating Biometric Authentication
Ugwu, Nnamdi Patrick
This project is a Social network that integrates biometrics as means of authentication. This research work proposes a strong argument for the use of biometrics as factor of authentication for social websites, ensuring that only authorized individuals can access critical data and also make it possible to trace and apprehend malicious users or criminal elements using the popularity of Social media as means of communication, to carry out their vices. Social network that rely on user names and passwords alone, as the trend currently is, may be providing access to sensitive information, personal data, private communication or online activities to unauthorized individu-als. By adding a biometric layer of security using your unique fingerprint, only authorized individuals can gain access to critical websites, networks and web-based applications asdeployed in this research work. The Social network is a web application developed using PHP, CSS, MYSQL as a relational database and Java for the biometrics layer. Object Oriented Analysis and Design Methodology (OOADM) was used to develop the system and Unified modeling language (UML) was used to model the software.

<title>Security and Integrity of Result Computations in Cloud Computing Environment</title>
<link>http://repository.unn.edu.ng/handle/123456789/4995</link>
<description>Security and Integrity of Result Computations in Cloud Computing Environment
Durojaye, Samson Dare
There is a growing trend of using cloud environments for ever growing storage and data processing needs. However, adopting a cloud computing paradigm may have positive as well as negative effects on the data security of servicing consumers.  The focus of this research is on the development of a proof-of-concept system for security and integrity of result computations in a cloud computing environment by implementing a four level cloud based application security gateway methodology for result computations that would help protect data from all forms of un-authorized access. The application was developed using PHP, Hypertext pre-processor, AJAX, JavaScript, Extended markup language (XML) and MySql database as the backend engine.&#13;
The developed system evaluation and testing show a significant difference in system response time, data consistency, availability of large storage capacity to meet increasing demand of data and secured access gateway to vital recourses.

<title>Course Registration and Result Processing System in Computer Science Department University of Nigeria, Nsukka</title>
<link>http://repository.unn.edu.ng/handle/123456789/4993</link>
<description>Course Registration and Result Processing System in Computer Science Department University of Nigeria, Nsukka
Amah, Marylyn Chidimma
Course Registration and Result processing system form the key activities in the life span of a student. The demand for effective and efficient result computation and output lead to the production of the automated result process. The digitalized process provides the capabilities of centralized repository for storage, management and dissemination of result information to those concerned. A study into the manual process reveals the inefficiencies and the rigorous nature of course registration and result processing; therefore the existing manual process was analyzed and converted into an automated system. The manual activities were modeled with an object-oriented methodology and the system was implemented with PHP (hypertext processor), a scripting language and MYSQL database management systems. It provides a robust database that generates various reports that is relevant to the department. The result of this research work is a system that automates the course registration and examination result processing for the Department of Computer Science, which can be used in any department of most universities in Nigeria.
