Abstract:
This Chapter discusses climate change and the need for curriculum change in Nigerian universities. The concepts of environment, climate arc explained. Environment is the surroundings of man. Different environments determine what man does and how he survives. A climate is a prevailing atmosphere or environment. It is the average weather conditions of a place over a period of years; the prevailing set of conditions such as temperature and humidity. Climate change is the variation in global or regional climates over time. It reflects changes in the variability or average state of the atmosphere over time scales ranging from decades to millions of years. Climate change is caused by natural processes such as variations in solar radiation, deviations in the Earth's orbit, mountain-building, volcanoes, continental drift, and changes in greenhouse gas concentration, known as Greenhouse effects
