dc.description.abstract The study focuses on the impact of pleasure reading on the lives of young adult readers in Enugu State. The population of the study consisted of 168 young readers between the ages of 12 and 21 years. The instnunent used for data collection for the study was a 4-poin1 Likert Scale questionnaire. Data collected were analyzed descriptively using mean scores and percentages. It was discovered that majority of the readers who read for pleasure in public libraries were secondary school students and the reading materials most preferred by them were books on true life stories. AlTIOng the recommendations, is that books on true life stories which attract the attention of young adult readers should be made a major part of public library collection on pleasure reading. en_US
