Abstract:
This work is designed to investigate and evaluate the Nigerian
industrial’dispute settlement mechanism. For the researcher to
provide something meaningful, Anambra State Public Service was
used as the area of study. The effectiveness of the projebt was
further ensured by concentrating investigation on two trade unions
namely the Anambra State Wing of the Civil Service Union of
Nigeria and the Nigerian Union of Teachers.
The researcher utilized library research as a source of
information for his secondary data because the library provides
various means ofinformation documentation. In addition, personal
interviews were also used to Tobtain first hand information for the
study. These interviews were held with the actual actors on the
industrial relations. In this regard, interview guide questions
were also utilized to ensure that proper direction was maintained
in the course of the interview. The use of questionnaire was
also used to collect data for this research work. Respondents for
the interviewwwere drawn from the trade unions selected for this
ffidyahd the Federal Ministry of Employment, Labour and
Productivity.
Data obtained through the questionnaire was; tabulated and
interpreted. From the facts available, it was found that infrequency
