Abstract:
The Nigerian public Corporations and its
industrial relations scene has witnessed and is
still witnessing an avalanche of low productivity.
Productivity here reflects the effectiveness
and efficiency of workers performance towards the
achievement of organisational objectives.
This project was undertaken primarily for the
broad purpose of finding out what labour-management
relations are and its effects on Productivity in the
Nigerian Telecommunications (NITEL), EnUgu territory
and the National Electric Power Authority (NEPA),
BnUgu district.
NITEL Plc., Enugu territory has presently a
total pOpulation of five hundred and thirty (530)
staff in employment, with one hundred and ninety six
(196) members of staff belonging to the ‘management'
body while three hundred and fourty-four (344) falls
into the 'Labour' class.
NEPA Enugu district comprising of Nsukka and
Abakaliki areas, has a total population of Nine
