Abstract:
This research work analyzed the individual needs. organization goals and productivity as stated by Maslow's hierarchy of needs visa¬ vis their relationship in the Banking and Telecommunications Organization. The work was divided into Five Chapters.
i. Chapter One dealt with the introduction of the topic as well as
the definition of the terms. Every individual has a unique set of needs or wants which can vary. The needs of an individual are the forces that impel action or reaction.
When an individual with his own needs goes into an
Organization, which has its own goals, a strong bond is developed between them and there is also a conflict situation.
ii) Chapter Two stated that the reason for an individual association with an Organization is for satisfaction of needs. The needs of the individuals and that of the Organization must be blended to achieve increase in productivity.
Data was collected from First Bank of Nigeria Plc and Union Bank of Nigeria Plc for Banking Organization and from Nigerian
Telecommunications Ltd. and Mobile Telecommunications Ltd for Telecommunications Organization
iii) Chapter Three was empirical and investigative in nature. It is the method of getting information needed in testing formulated hypothesis for the over all objectives of this work. The Research was carried out among the workers of Union Bank of Nigeria Plc., First Bank of Nigeria Plc.. Nigerian Telecommunications Ltd. and Mobile Telecommunications Ltd.
iv) Chapter Four focused on Presentation and analysis of data. Test of hypothesis and its interpretation.
Chapter Five concluded the research work. dealt with discussion on findings and recommendation in respect of
individual needs, organization goals and productivity.
Taking into consideration these findings, individual workers
should accept organizational values and goals as their own and begin
to think in terms of my team "or" my company'. This could increase
productivity and also help the organization to attain its goals.
