Abstract:
This research project work is focused on the "Appraisal of the Impact of Foreign Exchange Rate Management in the Nigerian Economy". The researcher covered a period of twenty years of various exchange rate management in Nigeria from 1986 - 2006. The work highlighted the various strategies adopted by the monetary authorities and the Federal Government to control and regulate the activities of the operators and the dealers in the market. From these periods of twenty years, Nigerian h ad gone three phases of foreign exchange rate management policy reforms starting from the SAP era, the deregulated exchange rate regime era control regime and the inter-bank foreign exchange market (called DAS and WDAS) regime era. However, the researcher employ the use of historical data conversion of some macro-economic aggregate to
determine the percentage growth rates of this macroeconomic variables and more so, the writer used the scope covered by the work and stratified random sample to determine the population and sample size.
