Abstract:
In this study, an attempt is made to examine the problem associated with the training and development of the employees. The attitude of the management of the bank towards training and manpower development and also how much the exercise has contributed in enhancing the services of the bank to the general public (customers).The facilities for training and development is also looked into. Motivation and compensation of staff after the exercise is also reviewed. The study exposed pockets of bad management and their non challant to the maintenance of their workforce. For better result, efficient management should been gaged. to management who secs training and staff development as an important factor that contribute immensely to the growth of the banks business, qualitative services to the customers and the improvement of the macro-economy at large.
