Abstract:
The Research topic is on the "Evaluation of Resources management and Control Practices among Women Entrepreneurs in Enugu Urban Area." The objective of this study is to ascertain why the lack of growth of the businesses of the female entrepreneurs so as to find out the degree of freedom and constraints of the female entrepreneurs . Moreover, this study is also carried out to evaluate the female entrepreneurial ability with regard to financial managerial skills and their control practices as well as determine why women go into entrepreneurship. For the purpose of this study, thirty female entrepreneurs were identi lied thus:-
Ten fromthe garment industry.
Ten from salon and hair dressing
Ten from computer operation services.
The researcher used both statistics and descriptive methods to analyse the responses of the women entrepreneurs. Questionnaires were used to collect the analysed information. The activities performed by the women in the management of the enterprises were analyzed. The project revealed that: Women entrepreneurs are affected by lack of financial rcsources.Female entreprencurs lack knowledge and skills In the operation of businesses. women in business arc subjected by circumstances to seek information and keep records. Accounting record is the greatest obstacle In the control of business enterprises of women. The contribution of women to the national economy is inevitable. Their contribution is a major part of economic dcveloprncnt. Women are fast becoming bread-winners and caretakers of homes. They seek for alternative means to make ends meet. The business of women entrepreneur hardly progress despite the fact that they put in much effort in business. This is due to lack of managerial training and other societal inhibition. Accounting records constitute the biggest obstacles in the control or business women. Female entrepreneurs must take some courses on business management before going into business. They should also carry out a feasibility study of the area of business they intend to embark on to help them justify their decisions to carry out such business. This will help them justify their decisions. Finally, women should seek knowledge relevant to their businesses. Knowledge is gotten through information more so since knowledge is power.
