Abstract:
The growing use of computer has dramatically altered many aspects of organizational activity. Innovations such as corporate electronic mail, Internet and Teleconferencing are not yet the norm in all offices . Increasingly, computers are used not just to gather, store and process data but also to serve as communication centers for distributing numerical data and textual information throughout an organization. Computer revolution in communication has effect on organizations and their managers. One consequence is that the form, content, size and frequency of message has changed. This has had a strong influence on how individuals and departments interact with one another. Because employees working on easy-touse computers can complete that task without much help from others, they are spending less time in direct interpersonal communication and also there is a reduction in the cost of operation in most organization as a result of computer revolution in communication. In summary, this Computer technology is the acclaimed engine room of modern day global development and sustainable growth. It is presently designing and creating a standardized information society of the future at a phenomenal speed. This project also dealt on the importance of computer to organization in particular (NEPA) and the society at large. In this study, it was found out that the computer technology has made great impact on the National Electric Power Authority (NEPA). In conclusion, the computer technology has had great impact on the services of NEPA.
