dc.description.abstract The researcher is looking into such problems as how efficient or inefficient workers participation in the decision making of an organization is to the progress of that organisation. How it affects skills, knowledge and attitude of workers and consequently their productivity standard in working towards the set goals. Hence, HIGHLIFE ENTERPRISES LTD. was chosen as the organisation of interest to the researcher with which to carry out the research work. In order to get reliable information from the above organisation for the research work, questionnaires were distributed to and personal interviews were also held with the managers and employees alike. Questionnaires were collected after responses were made, and information gathered in them were analysed. Hypothesis formulated for the research work were also tested accordingly. The findings showed that most employees feel that they are mere workers and are being used for profit making only, and as such they show little or no concern to the welfare of the organisation. But when they are called upon to participate in the decision making, they tend to disabuse their minds of the false belief and feel that they are fully involved, thereby eliminating discontent and disharmony. It was also observed that most managers do not understand what participation is all about and does not have enough insight into the-benefits, though if they do, will be able to tap employee ideas for better achievement of the organizational goals. Based on the findings, this study was concluded with recommendations for improved workers participation in decision making of an organization. The essence of which is to provide the organization with a tool which if adhered to will create an organizational climate that will motivate people in giving in their best in accomplishing organizational objectives. Secondly, the organisation will be innovative, responsive and adaptive to relevant environmental changes. en_US
