dc.description.abstract The importance of agriculture to any economy can hardly eve r be over-emphasized. This become more so when the economy is a developing or underdeveloped one. ::n Niger . La, agriculture used to be t h e main stay . of the economy before the oil boom of the early 1970SCl However, , today, the influence of agriculture in the economy h a s diminished considerably. ~he population can no long e r be fed from locally produced food, certain agricultural raw materials. are now imported and the contribution of agriculture to the G.N.P has drastically diminished. All these are happening amidst Nigeria's abund~1t Natural ( alno s of fertile laJ:?d) and human resources. -This is why study in 'the field of agriculture becomes readily interesting to research e and policy makers of Nigeria. One of the Major problems facing agricultural productivity is finance • .Hence a study of the problems or problems of. agricultural finance and loan repayment in Old Anambra state was undertaken with . a new to finding these problems, their Degrees of impedirnent and prefering recommendations of actions that will ensure proper allocation of credit facilities to farmers, prompt loan repayment therefore increased agricultural productivity. en_US
