Abstract:
The work dealt with the marketing of pharmaceutical products in Enugu State problems and prospects. Marketing of pharmaceutical products has been facing lots of challenges ranging from substandard of the products, poor packaging, high price of the products, inadequate distribution of the products to the rural and urban areas. The study has some of the following objectives: (1) To find out how the price of pharmaceutical products in Enugu State is not affordable. (2) To find out whether the quality of pharmaceutical products in Enugu State are up to the standard. (3) To examine the extent of how poor packaging affect the marketing of pharmaceutical products in Enugu State. The researcher used survey design method of research to collect data through questionnaires distribution and Bourley’s statistical formular was used to determine the sample size of the study. After the analysis of data and test of hypothesis, the result of the findings, recommendation and conclusion shows that: (i) The price of pharmaceutical products are high (ii) The pharmaceutical stores are sparsely located (iii) The dealers should open up more stores to serve their customers (iv) The marketers should mark down their prices of pharmaceutical products. They should make sure that all drugs brought were registered with NAFDAC.
