Socio-Cultural and School-Related Determinants Of Achievement In And Attitude To Integrated Science Among Junior Secondary School Girls In Enugu State, Nigeria

Abstract

The conference of Ministers of Education in Africa held in Harare, Zimbabwe in 1998 emphasized, among other issues, the need to promote the education of girls in Science and Technology especially at higher levels starting from secondary schools. In response to this, the Nigerian National Policy on Science and Technology (FMST, 1986), made adequate policy provision for ensuring gender equality in access to Science and Technology at all levels of formal education.
