Abstract:
This study investigated on Industry Change and Employee Management among Nigeria. Banks with special reference to the First Bank of Nigeria (FBN) Plc. It was intended to probe into the current industrial changes been experienced in the Nigerian Banking Industry with a view to determining the effects of these numerous changes on the employees via performance evaluation of departments and individual workers, profitability index, comparative working relationship amongst workers, just to mention but a few: The objectives of this research work include, to ascertain the effect of change on growth of FBN Plc, to determine the benefit of change to both the employees and the employers FBN Plc and to ascertain the effect of change on employees ' productivity in FBN Plc. The main instruments used by the researcher for this work are questionnaire and persona, interviews. Simple and straight forward questions were administered to the various respondents in the banks. A total of three hundred (300) copies of questionnaires Iver ::' prepared and distributed to the eleven (11) branches of FBN Plc in Enugu Urban. Fr01 J.t this research work it can be found out that f or change to gain acceptance in the Firs! Bank of Nigeria (FBN) Plc, the employees have to see the need for the changes and this can be done through effective communication between the management and employees as communication will help reduce resistance to change in the Bank as well. The researcher believes that for the First Bank of Nigeria Plc to continue to survive, it must always' be ready to accept various changes when the need arises so as to meet up with its counterparts all over the world. Based on this, some recommendations on how to manage industry change and employee management in the Bank include: anticipation f or change and scanning the environment for new opportunities, top management must be committed to change if an industrial change effort is to be successful, proper change implementation strategies must be implemented to ensure that the objectives of the change are made; continuous training and exposure will also help the Bank to know when changes are necessary etc,
