Abstract:
This study is on job satisfaction and adequate motivation of Nigerian workers in public enterprises. The subject of job satisfaction and adequate motivation deals with the fundamental problem of the work situation. The workers objective is essentially economic - to earn a living both for himself and his immediate dependants, in exchange for his contribution towards the achievement of organizational goals. The study examined whether there was a relationship between job satisfaction, adequate motivation and productivity. 2. If workers in public enterprises were achieving job satisfaction. 3). Factors that lead to dissatisfaction on the job 4. Identifying incentives that could best motivate the worker. The study was restricted to two public organizations in Enugu urban. The instrument for data collection was mainly the questionnaire.
Four hypotheses were tested and find1ngs revealed the following:
