Abstract:
From the title of this work, it will be seen that the work is geared towards finding out how the development or small-scale industries acts as a tool to industrialization.lhe idea]' is that development of small-scale industries still remains the shortest cut to the industrialization of a nation. The purpose of this work therefore is to examine and identify in detail the problems, prospects, effect and the importance of the development of small-scale industries toward industrialization of a nation.• This work has ~\(chapters with each chapter focusing in a specific objective. Chapter one tells us the origin of small-scale industries while chapter two gives us an insight into what small-scale industries are. It also gives us their guiding principles, and the environment within which small-scale industries operate. On the other hands, chapter three examines the type of research design and methodology used by researcher, the sources of data used and method of data analysis. Chapter four discusses and analyses the problems identified in chapter two using the research method as indicated in chapter three. UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA NSUKKA Finally, chapter five summarizes the findings, making some conclusions and some recommendation as to how the problem will be solved.
