Abstract:
The purpose of this work is to highlight the effect of training and development on the performance of construction firms in Enugu Sate, Nigeria. Specifically, the study aimed to pursue the following objectives: to determine the effect of manpower training on employee productivity; to examine the relationship between training and employee turnover, and to determine the effect of training and development on efficiency of operations the study lad a total population of 456 employees drawn from Ferotex Construction Company Ltd. A sample size of 213 was drawn using Taro Yamene Formula at 5% error of tolerance and 95% level of confidence. Instruments used for data collection were questionnaire and oral interview guide. A total of 213 copies of questionnaire were administered while 2010 (98.6%) copies were returned.
